Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking a Central Service Technician to sterilize and prepare instruments and supplies. You will handle autoclaves, assemble trays, wrap packages and maintain accurate records under supervision.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience with Central Service training. Strong QA, safety and infection-control knowledge is essential for patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year to 2 years applicable experience preferred; Central Service Technician training required.
• Strong time management, organization, and knowledge of QA, safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes instruments, equipment, linen and supplies using autoclaves.
• Loads autoclaves and sets controls to prescribed time/temperature with records for inspection.
• Assembles instrument trays and wraps packages for sterilization per procedure.
• Communicates with supervisor if parts are unavailable or equipment is deficient.
• Dispenses sterile and non-sterile equipment per department requests.
• Disassembles and tests portable equipment using approved cleaners to ensure function.
• Assists in orientation of new employees and department operations.
• Adheres to C-I-CARE standards in patient-centered interactions.
