Job summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Surgical Reprocessing Technician to support surgical teams across inpatient, outpatient, and OR areas. The role involves sterilizing, assembling, and stocking instruments and supplies to meet case needs.

The position requires a high school diploma, completion of medical terminology (preferred), and Central Service Certification, with BCLS preferred. Evening shift and hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of medical terminology course is preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
• Completion of the 120-day orientation with competency maintained.
• Central Service Certification.
• BCLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical products used in patient care areas.
• Document and monitor all sterilization processes (steam, sterilants) and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare case carts per surgeon's preference card and ensure instruments/equipment/implants are ready.
• Receive, unpack, stock, and maintain appropriate par levels for sterile supplies.
