Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech 1 for an evening shift (2:00pm–10:30pm), Monday through Friday with every other weekend, located in Fairfax, VA. The role assembles instrumentation, ensures sterility, and decontaminates instruments to support safe patient care.

You will manage instrument inventory, record processing steps in the tracking system, and collaborate with clinical staff to meet timely instrument needs while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
• Medical/hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles instrumentation accurately and efficiently.
• Ensures sterility of all processed items.
• Decontaminates instruments safely and properly.
• Manages instrument inventory and distribution to customers.
• Maintains instrument tracking records and loads to sterilization equipment.
• Operates sterilization equipment and validates processes.
• Loads/unloads case carts and ensures proper labeling.
