Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Sterile Processing Certified Technician to join the Sterile Processing team. You will inspect, assemble and evaluate surgical instruments to ensure proper sterilization and readiness for case carts.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm with on-call rotation after training. Education requires a high school diploma or GED (or 10 years of experience); CRCST or CSPDT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required or preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
• Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
• Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
