Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Winston-Salem area is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with a CSPDT background to ensure instruments and supplies are available and efficiently managed. You will coordinate repairs, manage transfers between facilities, and track instrument sets from intake to deployment.

Requires a CSPDT or equivalent certification, plus Surgical Instrument Specialist certification within one year. Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of Sterile Processing experience required.
• Strong communication and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instrument repairs with vendors and maintain off-site tracking logs.
• Assess surgical case schedules to optimize instrument sets and circulation.
• Procure and return loaner, vendor, and trial instrument sets while controlling inventory.
• Order new and replacement supplies per inventory levels and budget guidance.
• Assist with recalls to protect patient care.
• Maintain instrument tracking in the system and build count sheets.
• Collaborate with SPD Liaisons to ensure complete sets.
• Communicate instrument availability clearly with SPD Supervisors and OR Coordinators.
• Provide guidance and education on sterile processing processes.
• Assist with special projects and staffing as needed.
