Job summary

Labcorp in Itasca, IL is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to join our clinical lab team. The role supports receiving, sorting, and preparing specimens for testing, with data entry and strict adherence to safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to work 6:00pm–2:30am on weekdays with rotating weekends. Prior specimen processing or lab experience is preferred. Labcorp offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience preferred.
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
