Job summary

Discovery Ranch for Boys seeks a Special Education Teacher to deliver afternoon academic instruction within our therapeutic, relationship-based residential program for teenage boys in Utah. Morning therapy work complements classroom time, emphasizing experiential learning and a strengths-based approach.

Role is part-time with potential to grow to full-time, Monday to Thursday 4:00 pm–8:30 pm, paying $24–$26 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Utah licensure is required to teach in the state.
• Special Education secondary teaching certificate with mild-moderate and/or severe endorsements is preferred.
• Experience with IEP and 504 paperwork is expected.
• Must be able to pass criminal background checks and motor vehicle record checks.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom to maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one instruction and mentoring to students.
• Plan and participate in experiential activities aligned with therapy and academics.
• Develop, adapt, and implement curriculum for diverse learners.
