Job summary

Discovery Ranch for Boys in Utah is seeking an engaged English Teacher to deliver traditional classroom instruction within a relationship-based residential treatment center. The role supports students in a therapeutic setting, with school held in the afternoon as part of integrated care for emotional and behavioral challenges.

Time is part-time, Monday through Thursday, 3:30–8:30 pm, with compensation at $22–$25 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid & CPR certification preferred or may be provided.
• ICC certification preferred or may be provided.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record check.
• Current Utah driver’s license within 30 days of employment.

As our English Teacher, you will provide traditional classroom instruction in an unique setting to a diverse student body. Discovery Ranch for Boys is a relationship-based residential treatment center. We use evidence-based practices and emphasize experiential therapy.

You will work as part of our larger team in providing integrated care services to our students, who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. Mornings are devoted to therapy work while school is held in the afternoon, the ideal time for academic engagement in adolescents.

We need an engaged, creative, and dedicated teacher who sees the value in our students and will help them see it too as they continue their education. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a strengths-based approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.
