Job summary

Simmers Crane Design & Services, part of Flatiron Crane, seeks a Shop Welder to fabricate, weld, assemble, and repair overhead cranes, structural steel, and related components in a shop setting.

You will interpret engineering drawings, perform welding repairs, and conduct final assembly and testing to meet quality and safety requirements. A high school diploma and 3+ years in industry are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar military experience.
• Skills and experience in welding and mechanical maintenance.
• Team approach to problem solving and ability to interface with customers.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate cranes, structural steel, and other components in the shop as necessary.
• Perform mechanical and welding repairs in the shop as needed.
• Final assembly and testing of overhead cranes on the shop floor.
• Ensure that equipment is built to specification and drawings provided.
