Job summary

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) for full-time evening shifts or part-time evening shifts in the Medical Department at Genesee County Jail in Batavia, NY.

The RN will monitor and evaluate nursing care, perform patient assessments, and document findings to support secure and effective treatment. Successful candidates must hold an active New York RN license, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice nursing in New York state.
• Clinical decision-making ability is required and critical to have.
• Effective communication skills are essential.
• Ability to function independently and demonstrate clinical competency.
• Ability to gain trust of patients and build working relationships.
• Previous education and experience may be substituted in many cases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor treatment services to avoid inappropriate or duplicated services.
• Advise Health Services Administrator and Nurse Supervisor if issues arise.
• Monitor and recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost containment.
• Coordinate and/or conduct monthly health care staff meetings.
• Provide other services and duties as assigned by supervisors or corporate staff.
• Maintain accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps.
