Job summary

Benshaw is seeking a skilled Machine Operator in Pittsburgh, PA to produce and inspect precision parts from blueprints using mills, lathes and related equipment. You will set up, monitor and adjust machinery to ensure quality and productivity while following safety standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, strong mechanical aptitude, basic math and the ability to work independently or in teams to meet daily targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 or older and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience as a machine operator a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and inspect parts from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment) and using mat.
• Set up and operate machinery, tools, and equipment according to established procedures and production schedules.
• Monitor machine performance during operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Perform inspections of finished products to confirm compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Complete required production documentation, including work orders, inspection logs, and equipment checklists.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and report any equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance staff.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the manufacturing process to provide flexibility and support to the team.
