Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a skilled journeyman plumber to install, repair and maintain plumbing systems across the district. Works as part of a team of journeymen to complete projects on a campus-by-campus basis, adhering to safety guidelines and timelines.

Position operates on a 9/80 alternative schedule with a night shift, including potential weekend hours. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating work with contractors and maintenance

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Valid Arizona driver's license with safe driving record.
• Minimum five years’ journeyman level plumbing experience including two years’ service repair work.

Responsibilities

• Complete all types of plumbing work per work orders.
• Install new plumbing systems as needed.
• Process completed work orders on computerized system.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance under the direction of a journeyman.
• Perform minor painting maintenance under the direction of a journeyman.
• Perform minor carpentry and masonry work as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems per SFB guidelines.
• Regular and on-time attendance required.
• Assist other personnel as needed to support shared tasks.
• May direct the work of helpers.
