Job summary

CARRIS REELS OF CONNECTICUT INC in Enfield, CT is seeking entry-level Machine Operators and Assemblers to set up, maintain and operate machinery. Shift hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00 am with overtime on Fridays 3:30pm-8:30pm as needed.

You will calibrate and feed materials, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, troubleshoot issues, and keep a clean, safe workstation while working with various reels and hand tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a machine operator or assembler.
• Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer).
• Understanding of production procedures and safety regulations.
• Analytical math skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
• Test operation of machines periodically and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation and assist with other machinery as needed.
• Assemble reels utilizing hand tools.
