Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a food service setting required; hospital or skilled care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to planned menus.
• Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
• Serves food according to portion control.
• Prepares food for therapeutic diets per planned menus.
• Tastes prepared foods to ensure quality and takes corrective action if needed.
• Maintains proper food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Records food temperatures and corrects as needed.
• Assists in inventory and storage; rotates stock using FIFO.
• Helps establish production line to ensure timely meal preparation.
• Processes diet changes and new orders to meet orders.
• Inspects meal trays to ensure correct diet is served.
• Follows procedures to clean equipment and work areas.
• Ensures dietary tasks are completed in supervisor's absence; reports concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
