Job summary

St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Hudson, NY is seeking a Full-time Resident Assistant to support families transitioning from homelessness. The RA will ensure a safe, clean environment, assist with service plans, and coordinate with Case Managers to achieve goals.

The position requires a Monday-Friday 4:00pm–12:00am shift, a valid NYS driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification. Local travel and heavy interaction with residents are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.
• Experience in human services or residential shelter environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, secure, clean, and supportive environment for families transitioning from homelessness.
• Assist resident families with service plan implementation and track progress with Case Managers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, incidents, intakes, and progress notes per agency standards.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and de-escalation; respond calmly and therapeutically as needed.
• Transport clients in agency vehicles across the Capital Region as required.
