Job summary

Pine Street Inn in Dorchester, MA seeks an Evening Counselor to oversee participant safety on Saturdays and Sundays (2:45 p.m.–11:15 p.m.) with responsibilities as needed. You will help participants with dinner and daily living activities, and run groups during your shift.

You will collaborate with staff to engage residents in leisure activities, develop treatment plans, and document progress in logs and charts. Some reassignment to other Safe Haven programs may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or GED and some basic human services trainings.
• Preferred: advanced human services training and trauma-informed care knowledge.
• Experience in shelter or housing-first settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall safety of participants during the shift.
• Assist participants with dinner and activities of daily living (ADL) skills.
• Engage participants in leisure activities and lead groups.
• Develop and document treatment plans; monitor progress in logs/charts; follow through on plans.
