Job summary

Program is seeking a Science Lab Assistant to support Biology, Chemistry, Physics and General Science labs at the South Omaha Campus. You will prepare labs, set up activities, maintain cleanliness, replenish supplies, and assist with field trips as needed.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in science and 1 year of related experience; regular safety training is required. Hours are primarily 1pm–10pm Monday to Thursday, with additional hours on Fridays or Sundays, and occasional weekend

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science-related field required.
• One year of work-related experience in education or science labs required.
• Willingness to work late afternoons/evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and repair lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lab, sets up lab activities/experiments and cleans up.
• Assists with maintaining living laboratory specimens and cleaning aquariums.
• Assists with maintenance of chemical inventory and chemical disposal records.
• Performs clerical duties under the direction of the Science Lab Coordinator.
• Assists with lab activities (including field trips) when necessary.
• Attends and completes safety training and recertification sessions.
• Consistently and dependably attends work, activities and functions as scheduled.
