Job summary

Northampton Area School District is seeking an Anticipated Custodian 2nd Shift at Northampton High School. The role runs Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm and reports to the Supervisor of Facilities or Designee and Building Principal.

The custodian will clean facilities, set up spaces for events, and help maintain a safe, orderly school environment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Compliance with background checks and pre-employment screenings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and drive to work.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of rooms, lavatories, corridors, and other spaces using standard methods.
• Remove trash and recycling; operate cleaning equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Set up rooms and events; assist with building operations and safety checks.
• Follow schedules provided by operations leadership and report issues promptly.
• Maintain regular attendance and handle light maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secured and building is safe.
