Job summary

New Canaan Public Schools is seeking an Evening Custodian for New Canaan High School. The position runs 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, about 40 hours per week, and reports to the Facilities Manager and Head Custodian.

The Custodian will perform housekeeping, maintain a safe, clean facility, follow safety procedures, attend on time, work independently, and comply with district policies. Overtime may be required; teamwork with staff and students is important.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties as laid out and scheduled by the Head Custodian.
• Maintain a safe facility and follow safety procedures.
• Complete assigned work on time with a high level of cleanliness.
• Maintain good attendance and report to work on time.
• Work independently with pride in assigned duties.
• Demonstrate care for equipment and supplies.
• Accept overtime as scheduled.
• Cooperate with co-workers and show courteous behavior to students and staff.
