Job summary

Roanoke City Public Schools is seeking a Building Operations Worker (Custodian) for temp/sub roles. Duties include cleaning school interiors, sanitizing restrooms, trash removal, and general maintenance. Work hours are 2:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Pre-employment background check and drug screening are required. Prior experience preferred but not required. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement and more.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment safely and effectively.
• Must pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Cleans school building interiors and assigned areas.
• Removes trash and maintains cleanliness of facilities.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Cleans windows, desks, and surfaces; dusts and polishes woodwork.
• Relocates classroom furniture and assists with snow removal.
• Follows supervisor's task sheet and performs related duties as required.

Education

Completion of eighth grade or equivalent
