Job summary

Gentry School District is seeking an Evening Custodial Substitute to support cleaning and upkeep across school facilities. The role operates evenings, Monday through Friday, 2:30PM to 10:30PM, on an on-call basis with responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and assisting with event setups.

Applicants must pass background checks and the DHS Child Maltreatment Registry review; footwear, safety, and adherence to district procedures are expected.

Qualifications

• Must pass a criminal background check and Department of Human Services Child Maltreatment Registry check; applicant covers fees.
• On-call, part-time custodian substitute with ability to perform routine custodial tasks.
• Shifts are 2:30PM - 10:30PM at assigned school site or facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine custodial activities: sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, polishes floors; vacuums rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops, and other areas.
• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities; handles spills and debris; cleans tables and floors after lunch periods.
• Disinfects drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers, urinals; cleans mirrors, tile, and windows.
• Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards; notifies maintenance; maintains security of buildings.
