Job summary

Appoquinimink School District seeks a dependable Custodian for a part-time night shift (1:00pm–5:00pm) at multiple shared school locations. The role involves cleaning, minor maintenance, and grounds-related tasks to maintain a safe, healthy educational environment.

Under supervision of the Chief Custodian, you will perform various cleaning duties, assist with equipment maintenance, and help load/unload supplies while adhering to district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class D driver's license with good driving record.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment.
• Be able to perform minor maintenance and follow directions.
• Strong physical health and ability to lift and perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean rooms, restrooms, and hallways to meet district standards.
• Perform minor maintenance and operate cleaning equipment; replace bulbs and assist with heating equipment care.
• Load/unload trucks, deliver supplies, and assist in moving equipment.
• Open/close building, secure alarm system, and ensure safety at shift end.
• Assist with groundskeeping, snow removal, and other custodial tasks as assigned.
