Job summary

The Ankeny Community School District is seeking a Custodian/Maintenance Utility at Southeast Elementary in Ankeny, IA. This role cleans facilities, performs light maintenance, and supports events and daily operations to keep schools safe and welcoming.

Starting date is immediately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, read basic instructions, and obtain a valid Class C CDL if required by assignment. Hourly wage is $18.50, with shift 3:30 PM–12:00 AM and reports to the Operations and Custodial Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions.
• Demonstrates a reasonable degree of computer proficiency.
• May be required to possess and maintain a valid Class C Non-Commercial Driver’s License.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Post-offer pre-employment physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans facilities and grounds (classrooms, restrooms, gyms, cafeteria, offices).
• Performs minor maintenance on custodial and facility equipment.
• Assists with general maintenance and summer projects.
• Replenishes supplies in classrooms and restrooms.
• Operates district vehicles when required.
