Job summary

Higley Unified School District in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Full-Time Custodian (Evenings) to maintain clean, safe campuses. This role involves cleaning classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, hauling trash, and setting up facilities for events.

You will work 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, following the district’s standards and safety procedures. A high school education is preferred, and a valid driver’s license/IVP fingerprint card may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Education preferred.
• Effective communicator who works harmoniously with children and adults.
• Good physical condition with emphasis on sight and hearing; able to walk long distances during shift.
• First Aid Trained preferred.
• Ability to pass background and reference checks as stipulated by District standards.
• A valid driver's license and/or a CDL if driving is required.
• IVP Valid Fingerprint Card.

Responsibilities

• Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Clean the facility daily: windows, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, sinks, toilets, hallways, walls, desks, and chairs; cleans cafeteria floor after lunch.
• Remove trash from classrooms, outdoor receptacles, and cafeteria and take out to dumpster.
• Secure campus doors and gates at end of day.
• Clean up biohazards in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Conduct thorough cleaning during school breaks and summer.
• Set up and take down equipment for sporting events and other campus events.
• Safeguard confidentiality of information accessed in this role.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
