Job summary

Mt. Diablo Unified School District is seeking a Custodian at Pleasant Hill Education Center. The role is 8 hours per day, Mon–Fri 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, 260 days per year, with salary $22.85 to $27.77 per hour.

Starting immediately, duties include general custodial work under supervision in a school building. Typical tasks encompass cleaning floors, furniture, restrooms, windows, and walls, as well as minor repairs, light bulb replacement, and reporting repairs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax and scrub floors
• Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture and woodwork
• Empty and clean waste receptacles
• Wash windows and walls, clean restrooms and classrooms heaters and screens, sweep sidewalks and play areas
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment
• Clean fountains
• Polish metalwork
• Replace light bulbs
• Replenish supplies
• Turn out lights and lock doors and windows
• Report the need for repairs
• Watch buildings to prevent vandalism
• Operate power cleaning equipment
• May do limited grounds maintenance work
• May make minor non-technical repairs
