Job summary

Brooklyn Schools is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm) to perform cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds. You will work under the supervision of the Principal and Director of Facilities, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities for students and staff.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to operate cleaning equipment, and adherence to safety procedures. Previous custodial experience is preferred; high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of recent full-time custodial experience preferred.
• Successful completion of physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and restrooms.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment and power tools.
• Assist with event setup and building security.
• Follow chemical safety rules and proper handling of supplies.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
