Job summary

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is seeking a Day to Day Substitute Custodian at Mon Valley School (Finance) to maintain a clean, safe environment for students and staff. This evening position supports classrooms and facilities through routine cleaning and light maintenance.

Responsibilities include sanitizing spaces, restocking supplies, assisting with events, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager. Prior custodial experience and required clearances are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred, particularly in an educational or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Basic understanding of maintenance tools and techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Sanitize frequently touched surfaces according to health guidelines.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Change light bulbs and perform minor maintenance as needed.
• Report major maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager or Principal.
• Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for events and programs.
• Respond promptly to cleaning or maintenance requests during school hours.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support school operations.
