Job summary

Terry Redlin Elementary in Sioux Falls, SD seeks an Elementary Custodian for a 1.0 FTE position starting immediately. You will join the Sioux Falls School District custodial team to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students and staff, with duties including cleaning, upkeep of floors, restrooms, and general building maintenance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 8 months training or 4 months with 1 year custodial experience, physical ability to lift 75 pounds, operate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 8 months training at the high school or 4 months high school training with minimum 1 year prior custodial experience.
• Requires good physical health with ability to lift 75 pounds and work at heights.
• Low pressure boiler training and ability to work unsupervised are preferred.
• Good attendance and ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash and chalkboard cleaning; cleans and maintains floors and restrooms.
• Operates basic building systems (heating, A/C, ventilation) and reports needed repairs.
• Assists in lawn upkeep, playgrounds, and walkways; snow/ice removal as needed.
• Assists with setups/tears down for activities and events.
• Operates security systems and secures building after shift.
• Works a revised schedule and substitutes for others as needed.
• Shares responsibility for holiday, extended day, and weekend activities with other staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
