Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in a K-12 or collegiate environment. The role supports classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and common areas with attention to safety and cleanliness.

The position offers a Mon-Fri 3pm-11:30pm shift at $16.50 per hour and ABM’s comprehensive benefits package. Training is provided; prior experience is not mandatory and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, mop floors and clean spills in designated areas.
• Regularly empty trash receptacles in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors and managers.
