Halifax Elementary School in Halifax, MA is seeking an evening custodian for a full-time shift from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The role includes maintaining cleanliness, light maintenance tasks, and ensuring building security.

Starting immediately, the position offers benefits through the Town of Halifax. Prior custodial experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred; high school diploma or GED is acceptable. Salary ranges from $19.87 to $26.60 hourly.

Qualifications

• Able to tolerate heights and physical work.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment and safe operation.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsabilités

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Shovels, sands walks and driveways as appropriate.
• Checks exit doors and panic hardware during occupancy and raises/lowers flag.
• Sweeps classrooms daily and cleans furniture and chalkboards.
• Vacuums rugs and cleans corridors after school.
• Cleans toilet floors and sanitary fixtures daily.
• Washes windows inside and outside.
• Reports major repairs to head custodian or principal.
• Secures building and turns off unneeded lights before leaving.
