Job summary

Wilmette District 39 is seeking a dedicated PM Custodian to join our facilities team. This 12-month position helps maintain a safe, clean environment for students, staff, and visitors. The PM Custodian role emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork within a school community. The schedule includes a 3:30 p.m.

to 11:00 p.m. shift during the school year and a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daytime shift during breaks or emergencies, with benefits such as health, dental, long-term

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior custodial or cleaning experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Physically able to perform the duties of the job (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending).
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas according to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
• Remove trash and recycling; restock supplies as needed.
• Set up and break down rooms for school events and activities.
• Perform light maintenance (e.g., changing light bulbs, minor repairs).
• Secure the building at the end of your shift.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs or spills promptly.
• Follow all safety guidelines and district policies.
