Job summary

North Clackamas School District is seeking a dedicated custodian to support a learning environment by performing cleaning, maintenance, and setup duties for classrooms and common areas. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and professional conduct in daily interactions with staff and students.

Evening shift from 3:15 pm to 11:45 pm, 260-day schedule, with benefits through the district and participation in the OPSR/ PERS retirement plan. Pre-placement drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent, or at least two years of custodial experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• May be trained in first aid certification/CPR and defibrillator training.
• Ability to communicate and maintain good working relations with District employees, vendors, contractors, and public entities.
• Ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions requiring concentration and accurate work.
• Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction; sound judgment essential.
• Knowledge of state and local codes related to assigned trade/craft.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier materials with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning: sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, refinish floors, dust furniture, wash windows, restrooms, and dispose of rubbish.
• Keep areas clean, sanitary and orderly according to standards.
• Support classrooms with setup and maintenance of furniture and equipment.
• Assist with building/campus security and coordinate with administration.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance as directed by district staff.
• Respond to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.
• Follow safety procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
