Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools is hiring a Base Custodian for the District Wide with an ongoing, as-needed appointment. The position runs 8 hours per day on 2nd shift, 5 days per week, 261 days per year, with a pay range of $22.11 to $24.84 per hour plus a possible $0.62 night differential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to clean and maintain school facilities including sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance is required.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs as part of job duties.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Mechanical ability is beneficial for minor repairs.
• Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
• Other duties as assigned by the district.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain areas of a school building (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waste disposal).
• Set up for events and take downs as needed.
• Attend on-site as scheduled with reliability.
• Lift and move materials up to 60 lbs.
• Work independently or with a team to complete tasks.
• Perform minor repairs and mechanical duties as directed.
• Follow safety guidelines and district policies.
