Job summary

Rainier Scholars is seeking a School Year Science Teacher to join the Academic Enrichment Phase (AEP) team in Seattle. The role requires online Wednesday evening instruction and in-person Saturday sessions at Seattle Academy, from Oct 3, 2026 through Jan 27, 2027, reporting to the Academic Director.

You will guide students through rigorous content, develop curriculum, and provide feedback to support growth. The position is part-time and non-exempt, offering PSST benefits.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching or equivalent experience.
• Highly organized with strong listening and communication skills.
• Passion for working with a diverse group of young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach two sections weekly on Wednesdays (Zoom) and Saturdays (in person) Oct 3, 2026–Jan 27, 2027.
• Respond to questions about homework by phone (voicemail if unavailable).
• Develop curriculum in collaboration with teachers and Academic Director.
• Provide frequent written and oral feedback and conduct parent-teacher conferences.
• Serve as a Rainier Scholars staff member; report to Academic Director.
