Job summary

Rainier Scholars seeks a School Year Science Teacher in Seattle. The role runs online Wednesday evenings and in-person Saturdays at Seattle Academy from Oct 3, 2026 to Jan 27, 2027, part-time.

You will guide students through rigorous middle and high school science preparation and hands-on investigations. Reporting to the Academic Director, you’ll develop curriculum, provide timely feedback, and collaborate with teachers and families to support diverse learners using inquiry, data analysis, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching or equivalent experience.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and strong listening/communication skills.
  • Passion for working with diverse young people.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two sections with 1:15 teacher-to-student ratio on Wed evenings (Zoom) and Saturdays (in person) from Oct 3, 2026 to Jan 27, 2027.
  • Respond to homework questions by phone with voicemail policy in place.
  • Develop curriculum in collaboration with other teachers and the Academic Director.
  • Provide frequent feedback and conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
  • Serve as a Rainier Scholars staff member under supervision of the Academic Director.
