Job summary

UNC Health Care System is hiring a Clinical Nurse for UNC Hillsborough. The role provides bedside nursing care in a 160-bed hospital with a robust surgical program, including 8 operating rooms, and supports perioperative services.

The position runs 5:00 PM–11:00 PM with on-call coverage 11:00 PM–7:00 AM and backup 9:00 PM–7:00 AM if needed. Requires NC RN licensure and BLS; minimum 1 year of nursing experience; BSN preferred within seven years of employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care per professional standards.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
• Identify learning needs and participate in education programs.
• Evaluate care with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Organize and prioritize care for patients with complex needs.
• Communicate effectively to support cross-team collaboration and safe discharge planning.
• Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
