Job summary

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery within the Illinois Department of Human Services is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse II for the Chester Mental Health Center in Chester, Illinois. The role focuses on direct nursing care, coordination with the care team and adherence to licensing requirements.

Successful candidates will demonstrate an IL nursing license, effective communication and the ability to work the 3:00pm–11:00pm shift, Tuesday through Saturday, with an unpaid 30-minute

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing education program.
• Two years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience OR higher degree.
• Must hold Illinois RN licensure.
• Ability to work after hours, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients on an assigned unit.
• Serve as designated lead worker.
• Provide reports to staff and oncoming lead-worker to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in meetings with clinical, medical, administrative and other staff.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment and comply with infection control standards.
