Job summary

Cocoon House in Monroe, WA seeks a Youth Housing Support Staff (Residential Youth Counselor) for evening swing shifts. The role provides a safe, supportive environment for teens in care, with a focus on life and social skills, enrichment activities, and trauma-informed practices.

Starting wage is $21 per hour with a $1.50 differential for multilingual skills. On-site, weekend availability required; full-time hires eligible for benefits and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 6 months minimum of experience working with youth.
• Must attend weekly team meetings and bi-weekly supervision.
• DCYF background clearance.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff.
• Maintain healthy and safe boundaries with youth.
• De-escalate youth in crises and apply trauma-informed care.
• Process intakes and exits, provide orientation, and document data.
• Transport youth to appointments as needed.
• Provide meals, grocery shopping, planning, and cooking.
