Job summary

Alpharus Health in Chicago is seeking a Residential Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. You will lead group counseling, provide individual support, and help clients progress through treatment in a residential setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency and at least 6 months of related experience, preferably in a program serving adolescents or adults. The schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00pm–11:00pm, with competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling.
• Experience with a residential program serving adolescent or adult populations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate group counseling sessions, educational programs, and lectures.
• Conduct individual counseling for crises intervention, support, and guidance.
• Document client progress and responses to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
• Monitor clients in medication self-administration and ensure safety.
