Job summary

The Minnesota State Academies is seeking a part-time Residential Educator for the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind to supervise students in the dormitory and assist with evening activities.

The role requires Parapro/Paraeducator eligibility or credential, and strong English reading/writing skills, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Employment is contingent on a background check and is scheduled for Sunday-Thursday evenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include passing a Parapro or Paraeducator assessment or eligibility to pass within 6 months.
• Experience working with students in an educational or dormitory setting is preferred.
• Ability to read and write English to understand directions and maintain records.
• Strong human relations skills to interact with residential students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the residential area and perform other duties as assigned.
• Support evening shift operations and student activities.
