Job summary

Community Health Resources, Inc. is seeking a Residential Counselor for Willow House in Enfield, CT. This part-time role (16 hours per week) runs Friday and Saturday 3pm-11pm, onsite at Willow House, a 5-bed, 24-hour staffed program for young adults aged 18-25.

Responsibilities include supporting residents in independent living skills, coordinating groups, and assisting with daily activities per the treatment plan. A valid driver’s license and two years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record required.
• Background in mental health or residential care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains environment and program standards per CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and licensing standards.
• Monitors residents’ medications following policy and procedure.
• Communicates day’s events effectively to staff using appropriate methods/tools.
• Teaches residents in rehab areas: nutrition, budgeting, hygiene, and basic home care skills.
• Assists/administers tasks as directed by supervisor and supports care plans.
• Prepares and facilitates educational groups and individual interventions as directed by treatment plan.
