Job summary

Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford is seeking a Recovery Coach to help clients develop daily routines that support long-term recovery and to provide post-discharge follow-up support. This role emphasizes modeling coping strategies and facilitating group activities.

You will meet clients within 48 hours of admission to create an Individual Recovery Plan and at least twice weekly to review progress, while coordinating daily housing- and recovery-related tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• One year of experience working within a treatment program or recovery community.
• 12 Step knowledge preferred.
• Recovery Coach training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with client within 48 hours of admission to complete an Individual Recovery Plan.
• Meet with client at minimum twice a week to review Recovery Plan progress.
• Orients the client to the facility, program and its schedule.
• Assists individuals in recovery planning through completion or planning of concrete tasks (get a Big Book/Basic text, refer to Big Book study, identify local meetings to attend, connect with someone in their area if possible, etc.).
• Assists clients with activities of daily living within housing program (chores, free time activities, etc.).
• Works with client to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long term recovery.
• Willingly shares personal recovery experiences, demonstrates and models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
• Facilitates daily group activities as assigned, including morning community meeting, wrap up meeting, 12 step study group and other activities as assigned.
• Participates in both group and individual supervision with Clinical staff.
• Works with client to develop a discharge plan inclusive of areas addressed in the Individual Recovery Plan.
• Follows up with client post-discharge to check on progress and offer support as needed.
