Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography.
• Licensure: ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 12 months of hire.
• Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: One year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology. Recent hospital/healthcare radiologic technologist experience or student.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates radiologic principles with appropriate technique and positioning for optimal examinations.
• Assists in teaching radiography students in radiography principles.
• Communicates with patients to obtain history and consent; explains procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Assists physicians in examinations using standard protocols and sterile techniques as needed.
• Recognizes problems that may affect exams and takes action to achieve desirable outcomes.
