Job summary

Inova Health System is hiring a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) for a full-time day shift position at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. The role includes (3) 12-hour shifts, occasional call and holiday rotation, with sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist by state; must be licensed as required by the employing state for Inova Imaging Center roles.
• Certification: ARRT within 12 months of hire; BLS on start.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough radiologic knowledge and uses appropriate techniques/positioning for optimal exams; adheres to policies to optimize interpretation.
• Operates radiologic equipment in fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency department and Operating Room settings; follows radiation protection procedures.
• Assists in teaching radiography students and reinforces sound radiography principles.
• Communicates with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent; explains procedures to ease anxiety and ensures accurate chart identification.
• Assists physicians in performing various examinations using standard protocols and sterile techniques.
• Recognizes/examines potential problems during exams and takes action to ensure best outcomes.
