Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for 40 hours weekly in the Radiology department. The role requires positioning patients, operating X-ray equipment, and ensuring patient identification and safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Understanding of positioning and technique factors as in Merrill’s Directory
• Able to perform all common radiologic procedures
• ARRT Registry within one year employment
• IEMA License

Responsibilities

• Position patient and adjust equipment to perform procedures
• Identify patients using two forms of ID and time-out protocol
• Communicate with patients using AIDET before, during and after exams
• Enter exam data and charges; verify interpretations by physician
• Maintain patient privacy and privacy standards
• Follow safety standards and proper handwashing
• Prepare transport requests and schedule inpatients/outpatients
• Assist patient to/from procedure area; help with PACS image viewing and fluoroscopy procedures
• Operate radiographic equipment and optimize images with minimum dose
• Document radiation dose and time usage for cases
• Attend to equipment malfunctions and safety hazards
• Maintain professional conduct and dress standards
