Qualifications

• Current New York State licensure to practice Diagnostic Radiography.
• Registered with ARRT (employees hired prior to 2001 are exempt from this requirement).
• Completion of a two-year ARRT-approved school.

Responsibilities

• Operates X-ray equipment in accordance with State and Federal Codes.
• Positions patient for proper orientation of anatomy.
• Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure.
• Identifies film and/or other identification by displaying right/left markers and patient information.
• Prepares and labels radiographic contrast media and medications on the sterile field as required by policy.
