Job summary

GTI Fabrication is seeking a QC Technician to inspect and test materials and finished products across production stages, ensuring compliance with internal specs and external codes. You will develop inspection reports, calibrate QC equipment, and analyze test data while collaborating with the QA team.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in metals fabrication, welding inspection experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Solid understanding of measuring, inspection and test equipment.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of inspection and/or production experience in metals fabrication.
• Visual weld and welding inspection experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong math in fractions, ratios, and proportions.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Near/distant vision with 20/20 correction.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
• Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
• Perform inspections across all stages of production.
• Prepare and maintain test data for review.
• Evaluate data and draft reports, noting deviations from standards.
• Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods.
• Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
• Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
