Job summary

Merakey is hiring Psychiatric Technicians for the Adult Behavioral Health program in York, PA. This full-time role offers 2nd shift schedules (evening hours) and 40-hour weeks, with pay rates shown depending on education level.

The position provides direct care to individuals with serious mental illness in an Extended Acute Care setting. Responsibilities include de-escalation, documentation, treatment planning participation, and supporting daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mental health or related field is required for Technician II.
• High school diploma/GED with 12 college hours in a mental health or related field OR 6 months of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have an active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage agitated consumers using de-escalation techniques.
• Complete clear and accurate documentation.
• Provide care considering rights, safety and therapeutic environment for consumers.
• Report consumer crises and unusual incidents to Program Director/Supervisor.
• Support individuals with household activities (cleaning, laundry, etc).
• Teach activities of daily living (money management, hygiene, scheduling, social and leisure activities).
• Assist in developing and implementing activities to increase independent living and community skills.
