Job summary

Gorton’s is seeking a hands-on Material Handler/Pack Operator to support production lines. You will deliver materials to the lines, clear jams, and operate packaging equipment, while following GMP and PPE policies.

The role requires effective communication, teamwork across departments, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand long hours. Ideal candidates demonstrate judgment, basic math and computer skills, and a commitment to reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be capable of performing Operations Level 2 tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in decision making.
• Experience applying Lockout/Tagout procedures to equipment.
• Ability to engage and collaborate with all levels and departments.
• Understanding standards and measurements.
• Math and computer skills.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment after training.
• Lift up to 60 pounds.
• Stand for long periods up to 10 hours.
• Abide by GMP and PPE policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Material Handler: Deliver materials to the production lines, as well as clearing jams in packaging equipment as needed.
• Pack Operator/Floor: Operating and clearing jams in various pieces of packaging equipment.
