Job summary

Southwestern Community College seeks an Evening Nursing Instructor to teach the Practical Nursing program’s evening cohort and supervise clinicals during night hours. The position is full-time, exempt, and designed for an 9-month schedule plus an 8-week summer session. Evening hours and clinical supervision are essential responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires an active RN license in North Carolina or Compact jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as RN.
• BSN is required; MSN preferred; Teaching Certificate or NCBON rule compliance within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Teach evening courses (after 5:00 p.m.) and supervise night clinicals (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.).
• Maintain credentials and stay current with nursing practice.
• Deliver instruction across in-person, online, HyFlex, and hybrid formats.
